My daughter, Madeleine goes to spend the night with her Gran once a week. This gives my husband and some much needed alone time for us to have time as a couple and also separetly. Madeleine's slumber party night is usually Thursday night - I drive her out and have dinner with my parents and then on Friday evening my husband drives out to pick her up and have dinner with my parents while I have alone time at home. After a very fruitful (pun intended) to costco I decided my along time would be spent canning applesauce for Madeleine.
15lbs of organic apples from costco 10 lbs red delicious and 5.5 gala apples
One dozen 12 ounce canning jars
My trusty apple pealer that suctions to the counter top
Blenda aka the blendtec blender
Hot water bath for the jars full of applesauce....
The finished product approximately 6 quarts of unsweetened cinamon applesauce.
