Progress Report for the Week...

So I set a big list of to do things for the week on Tuesday.  I accomplished almost everything on my list.

After procrastinating for several months I finally finished Paul's Beer Gloves and his matching hat.  Both patterns from Son of Stitch n Bitch.  Last year I knit a sweater Paul -- he hasn't been wearing it because the zipper is out of  alignment and the hood was miles too big.  I tackled downsizing the hood and the zipper will have to wait till next week.  I only have 1.25 inches left to  knit on Paul's birthday socks then I can start shaping the toe...Hurray I might actually finish Paul's birthday present in the same month as his birthday!  (We won't mention that his birthday was on the 3rd and its now the 26th).  I will post pictures on Monday of all my finished products.

Wednesday was my designated shopping day so that Paul could take the car to work and I could get to bed at a decent hour, since tomorrow (Friday) is my Monday once again.  I went crazy at Fredmeyer's buying a bunch of different seeds for my garden this year.  All of the Lilly Miller and Ed Hume seeds were 40% so I couldn't pass up a good bargain.  Next week's list of do things will have seed mats on it....

As for the rest of my to do list...the cooking for weekend is done.  Laundry is a work in progress.  Its much easier to do one load a day than try to do it all at once.   Today I just happened to skip even one load.  Maybe I'll get one in before I go to work tomorrow....

1. Finish Paul's Gloves - Done
2. Access the Damage done to Paul's hat when Jasper pulled out the plastic bill and put in another bill to finish hat. -- Done
3. Buy Seeds -- done
4. Work on Paul's socks -- check still a work in progress
5. Make seed mats - moved to next week's to do list
6. cook for the week - done
7. Laundry - still work in progress

Making Progress on the week's projects

Well I've made progress on my projects this week.  Yesterday I finally finished Paul's gloves and his matching hat.  Also last year I knitted a sweater for Paul but the hood was too big.  So I downsized the hood.  Today I will fix the zipper in the sweater.  Then I only have one more Paul project to finish...his birthday socks.

Its almost time to start gardening this year.

This week will be a week to focus on completing projects.  The three projects that stick out most for me to complete are Paul's hat, gloves and birthday socks.

My fun shopping for the week is buying garden seeds for my square foot garden that I'm attempting this summer.  My goal is to keep some of it going year round so that Paul and I can enjoy fresh vegetables without going to market all the time.  I saw this cool idea on another blog while I was at work yesterday to make seed mats for my garden with single ply paper-towels.  I really like the idea.

To do list for the week:
1.  Finish Paul's Gloves
2. Acess the damage done to Paul's hat when Jasper pulled out the plastic bill and put in another bill and finish hat.
3. Buy Seeds
4. Work on Paul's socks
5. Make seed mats
6. cook for the week
7. laundry

I just made my first sale on Ebay tonight!

Tonight I made my first sale on ebay!  Paul and I have had some stuff laying around the house that we've been trying to sell on craigslist but we just weren't getting any bites.  Paul suggested that we try ebay since this stuff seemed to sell really well in that type of market place.  One item sold three more to go.

One of the reasons I had been focusing on the craigslist for my market place was that all of the listings were free and the transactions were cash only.  Whereas on ebay you have to have a paypal account, pay ebay to list your items, pay for the number of pictures you want to post and then pay for the different features that you want to include in your auction.  All in all the average for listing the three items is about $8.00/item.

One plane ride from tropical paradise to the snowy Northwest

Paul and I had a great time in Kauai last week. We went snorkeling, and adventuring to almost every corner of the island.

For those of you who are Elivis fans, we stayed within a coconut's throw of the once famous resort Coco Palms. It was my grandmother's favorite place in Hawaii. Coco Palms is the only hotel that is still shuttered from Hurricane Iniki in 1992.

Since Paul and I visited Arizona's Grand Canyon last June we thought it only appropriate that we visit Hawaii's Grand Canyon Waimea Canyon. The views that we were able to see were beautiful, unfortunately the best views were clouded over so we will have to visit the island again when the weather is better.

Once we traveled above the waterfall we were clouded in and no more views could be seen.

I will be at stitch n bitch this week. Anyone who needs a ride please let me know by leaving a comment or shooting me an email.

Aloha from Hawaii!

Paul and I are enjoying a few days in Hawaii.  Yesterday we spent the day in search of the "perfect beach".  We settled for one on the South side of the island of Kauai.  Today we are going to visit Hawaii's Grand Canyon.  Its hard to imagine that just a week ago Paul and I woke up to 2-3 inches of snow.  Here are some pictures:

Be prepared when you visit Kaua'i  to see lots of chickens running around wild and bring earplugs because they don't just crow when the sun rises they crow anytime during the day.

This is the ocean view of the place we are staying.  There is a nice paved walking trail along the length of the beach.
